{§4§}§hooting4§success is a Non-Profit Organization in honor of a family member Rashawn Anderson-Mincey; who was Murdered in February 7, 2011.
Rashawn is a story of Empowerment of a youth that not only lost his life too soon, but a story of a young man who showed & proved that you can turn your life around just by finding & pursing your dreams & passion.
Rashawn had some problems & issues in his life & the only way he knew how to let out his anger was fighting. At one time, we thought Rashawn was going to be a boxer. This lead him into behavior issues that ultimately landed him in a school for children with behavioral problems.
After a couple years, Rashawn found his passion in Basketball. He decided this is what he wants, but first he knew he had to improve his grades & behavior. A year later, his improvement was remarkable that he no longer needed to attend that particular school for troubled youths. The next year, he enrolled in a public school in Philadelphia. He seem to became a success overnight. His grades remained at passing & continued to improve & so did his skills in Basketball, where now he was part of the Basketball team. Rashawn became the Top Lead Guard player & was about to graduate. Rashawn began to get offers from several colleges pursuing what he loved. He made his dream a reality. Basketball Scholarships began pouring in. Unfortunately, he was not there to walk down the aisle to accept his diploma.
Sometimes it is the people we hang with, people who are jealous or envy of you, people we forget we may have hurt & you do not see what's coming next. Despite the pain, unsolved questions, no answers or leads to who killed Rashawn. We as his loved ones were left here not knowing how or why, but we kept seeing the same thing being reappeared, we watch the news, more youths dying, we went to "Stop the Violence" forums & expressed how we felt, the pain, the empty feeling, the guilt, but at that moment. We made a decision to not ask for CHANGE, but MAKE change. That is what our Foundation is based on. Youth & Community Empowerment. We MUST let our youths know, there is a better ways & you MUST **§HOOT4§uccess**
